Private Investigations
The Lion Investigation Academy is authorized by the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools to award the Associate in Specialized Technology (AST) Degree in Private Investigation. This is a career degree with a maximum concentration in Private Investigation. This program has been designed to provide an opportunity for students to acquire the skills necessary to qualify for a career position and to earn a degree. Degree requirements call for the completion of at least 60 credits. Transfer credits from other approved institutions are frequently accepted.
Admissions:
In order to qualify for admission to the AST Degree program the applicant must:
Be a high school graduate or hold a state-approved GED Equivalency Certificate.
- Display good ethics.
- Submit an application to the Admissions Office of the Academy.
The completed application for admission must be sent to the the Admissions Office with official evidence of high school completion. The application must be accompanied by a registration fee. If the applicant is academically qualified and fully aware of his or her financial obligation, the applicant will be accepted and promptly notified by the Academy. Instructional materials will be mailed to the student after the student has submitted payment outlined in the payment schedule.
Completion Time:
This is a self paced program. A maximum of two (2) years is permitted for completion of the four-semester program. Requests for time extensions due to extenuating circumstanced must be submitted to the director of the Academy. Each case is decided on an individual basis, and student counseling will be made available.
Completion Requirements:
In order to be awarded a degree, a candidate must satisfy the following requirements:
Complete the 60 credit hours in the degree program described in the catalog.
- Achieve a Cumulative Quality Point Average of 2.0 or higher in all studies.
- Complete the requirements within three (3) years of the date of acceptance
- meet all financial obligations
Curriculum Outline:
Completion of this four-semester program qualifies a graduate to be awarded an AST Degree in Private Investigation. This program is designed to prepare men and women for a career in one of the many areas of the investigation and security profession. The curriculum is designed with the proper balance of general and specific subjects which provide the students with a broad background in both theory and practical application. The program is supplemented by a broad acquaintance with related subjects.
